Cutcrow Terms of Service
Effective 24 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Cutcrow ("we", "us") for your use of the Cutcrow app ("Cutcrow"). By installing or using Cutcrow, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Cutcrow.
1. Your licence
Paid licence. Cutcrow is paid software with no free trial: you need a licence to use it. A licence is a one-time purchase, sold through Gumroad. It lets you use Cutcrow, for personal or commercial work, on up to 3 computers at a time. To move it to a new computer once you've used all 3, email us and we'll free one up.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Cutcrow under these terms. We keep ownership of Cutcrow itself.
You may not:
- share, sell, rent or publish your licence key, or let more people use it than the licence allows;
- copy or redistribute Cutcrow, or offer it as a service to others;
- get around the licence checks in any way;
- reverse engineer or modify Cutcrow, except where the law, or an open-source licence for a part of Cutcrow, allows it.
2. Payments and refunds
Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which processes your payment and any applicable tax. Prices are shown at checkout. All sales are final and we don't offer refunds, except where the law requires one. If a purchase is refunded or charged back anyway (for example through your bank), its licence is deactivated and Cutcrow stops working on your computers until a valid licence is activated.
3. Updates and support
We may release updates that fix problems or add features, and Cutcrow can check for them. We don't promise any particular update, feature or support period. Support is by email at cutcrow.support@gmail.com.
4. AI agents and other companies' services
Cutcrow doesn't include an AI model. Its AI editing works through an agent you install and sign into yourself: Claude Code (Anthropic) or Codex (OpenAI).
- Your use of those agents is between you and Anthropic or OpenAI, under their terms, and any subscription or API costs are yours. That includes usage billed to an API key you save in Cutcrow.
- AI agents make mistakes. Review what they do: every change they make to your timeline appears as a change card you can undo, but files they create and commands they run happen outside the timeline.
- You're responsible for the commands and file changes you approve. If you turn on "Run any command", the agent can run commands and change files without asking you first; you accept that risk. Cutcrow always blocks commands that try to become an administrator ("root").
- We aren't responsible for those companies' services: their availability, accuracy, pricing, outages or changes.
Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. Codex, ChatGPT and OpenAI are trademarks of OpenAI. Cutcrow is an independent product and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
5. Your content
Your videos, audio, images, projects and everything you export are yours. We don't claim any rights to them, and we never receive them (see the Privacy Policy).
You're responsible for your content and for how you use Cutcrow:
- only import and edit material you have the right to use;
- you're responsible for what you publish, including anything an AI agent generated or changed for you;
- don't use Cutcrow for anything illegal, to infringe other people's rights, or to make content that deceives people in harmful ways, harasses them, or exploits children.
6. Open-source software
Cutcrow includes open-source components, such as FFmpeg, whisper.cpp, Tauri and the fonts it uses. Each is provided under its own licence, listed in Cutcrow's documentation and installer. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
7. No warranty
Cutcrow is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Cutcrow will be error-free, that it won't lose data, or that it's fit for a particular purpose. Keep backups of important files.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of Cutcrow or of any AI agent with it. Our total liability for any claim relating to Cutcrow is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the 12 months before the claim.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived under the law where you live.
9. Ending these terms
You can stop using Cutcrow at any time by uninstalling it. If you break these terms, we may end your licence, and you must stop using Cutcrow. Sections 4 to 10 continue to apply after the terms end.
10. General
- Changes: we may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and mention important changes in the release notes. Continuing to use Cutcrow after a change means you accept it. The version in force when you bought your licence keeps covering that purchase where the law requires.
- Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes go to the courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them in your own courts.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of these terms right away doesn't mean we give up the right to.
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Cutcrow.
